Estival Life – PCFTW Fundraising Day

Principal Chan Free Tutorial World (PCFTW) was established in 2011. As a non-profit, non-government organization and with the generous support of many volunteer teachers, they provide 100% free one-to-one tutorials and learning support to the underprivileged children who have financial difficulties. Under the COVID-19, PCFTW set up a self-learning channel in YouTube. Till date they have already uploaded 5,000 videos to facilitate students’ self-learning during class suspension.

PCFTW relies fully on public donation without government subsidy. Originally they planned to hold Flag Day on 11 April 2020. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, it’s called off. They are now facing financial challenges and insufficient manpower. Therefore, they are not able to recruit more volunteer teachers and procure more teaching and learning facilities and equipment, and in turn to render service to more students in need.

COVID-19 is storming Hong Kong and the world with retail industry as one of the most adversely affected. Although Estival Life has no way to skip from it, when we learn about PCFTW’s challenges, we’d still hope to try our best in a way or two. We thus decided to organize a fundraising day and wish to appeal for everyone’s generous support!

When: 4 APRIL 2020 - Children’s Day

How: 50% of sales on that day in our Kwun Tong store and online shop will be donated to PCFTW

What: To support the one-to-one free tutorial and learning support service for underprivileged students
