ByOrgMeans' organic hydrosols is 100% pure and free from preservatives, alcohol and emulsifiers. It is the most genuine form of hydrosol (obtained by steam distillation of the plant parts): no infusion, no blend of essential oil and water and no condensed water. These superior quality hydrosol is 3-5 times more concentrated when compared to other commercial grade hydrosol available in the market.

Our hydrosol is specifically distilled for the hydrosol, not produced as a by-product or even a co-product. It is distilled using fresh plant material allowing the supplier to capture not just all the volatile components of the plant, but more importantly, the cellular water from the living plant. This cellular water is usually lost under the conventional high pressurized steam runs for essential oils or by using dried plant materials. It is this cellular water, imbued with nutritious minerals, phytosterols, antioxidants, and countless other natural botanical chemicals, that imparts the hydrosol with the water-soluble aromatic and therapeutic properties of the plant.

ByOrgMeans' exquisitely scented hydrosols therefore has a different make-up to their essential oil counterpart though it retains a small fraction of essential oil compounds (about 0.05 to 0.2grams per litre), mostly the gentler, more hydrophilic aromatic esters and alcohols. This is one of the reasons that makes hydrosols quite safe for children, the elderly and anybody with pronunced sensitivies.

Rose has been known to be a fantastic toner for all skin types for many generations. Along with having antimicrobial and astringent properties, it adds and retains moisture, making it perfect for healing dry, mature and aging skin. It is a good choice for anti-aging and anti-wrinkle formulations and is also known for its ability to help cool sunburn. As an ingredient in lotions, creams and other skin care products, it adds a soft, floral aroma as well as many skin healing properties.

Emotionally and energetically, it is both invigorating yet calming. Rose is known to promote emotional balance and a sense of well-being. It is also a good choice for women's blends intended to help balance the hormones and combat the symptoms of PMS, menopause and menstrual cramping.

ByOrgMeans Organic Rosa Damascena hydrosol is very versatile in use as:

After cleansing the faces, spray on cotton pad and wipe over the clean face and neck.
For refreshment during the day, spray sparingly on the skin.
Before touching up the make-up, gently remove the dirt and excess oil with tissue. Spray sparingly onto the faces. Then touch up the make-up, which will be more smooth and lasting.
Facial Mask: Mix the hydrosol with clay and apply to cleansed skin. Rinse after 10-15 minutes.
Hair Care: Spray onto cleansed hair and gently massage the hair and scalp. Do not rinse.
Deodorant & Perfume Spray: Mist under arms and as needed elsewhere to help prevent body odor.
